Ronny Chieng is of Chinese Malaysian background and was raised in the United States as well as Singapore. Graduating from Melbourne University Law in 2009 he then got a great job offer in Malaysia and turned it down to make people laugh.
It’s been an exciting ride for Chieng, who’s accolades include coming second in the Raw Comedy 2010 National Finals as well as coming third in the Green Faces National 2010.
The honours don’t stop there, this year he was handpicked to be one of 5 comedians chosen to be a part of the prestigious 'Comedy Zone' – The MICF showcase of the best up and coming comedians from all over Australia. Less than a month later Ronny proceeded to have a sold out season of his debut solo show 'Ronny Chieng is Selling Out Fast' at the Sydney Comedy Festival.
