“Adaptation” is a solo stand-up comedy show by award-winning Baltic comedian Irina Luur, who takes the audience on a hilarious journey of trying to become an Aussie girl — one awkward cultural moment at a time.

From growing up in the Soviet Union to raising kids in Sydney, Irina explores the absurdity of cultural adaptation: rental prices that feel like organ donation, smiling through emotional breakdowns, and wearing a beanie at home in winter. Performed in English (with a charming Slavic accent), this is a sharp, honest, and very funny look at starting over in a new world.

Irina is the winner of Ukraine’s “Make the Comedian Laugh” (2018) and Russia’s “Comedy Battle” (2019), and was a regular on TNT’s Stand-Up Show before moving abroad. She made her English-language debut in London in 2020 and is now a resident performer at several Sydney comedy clubs.

Whether you're an immigrant, a local, or somewhere in between — you'll laugh, relate, and maybe even feel a little warmer inside (with or without a beanie).

Performed in English. Slavic soul included.
